What We’re Looking For
We are looking for writing, poetry, and art that feels like a car crash. We want stories that have been waiting to be told. Writing by people who wear too much eyeliner and listen to Sleater-Kinney. We want gritty, anemic poetry and art that your bitchy art teacher wouldn’t hang up. We want grudges and bite marks and grandiose visions. Anything visceral is appreciated.
Both fiction and non-fiction prose should be 100-1500 words long. (A little over or under is fine!) Poetry is capped at three pages. Art can be any medium as long as it is your own original work and no copyright infringement is involved. We retain first North American serial rights.
Please no sexism, homophobia, racism etc. It’s fine if you discuss these issues as someone who experiences them first-hand in your work, but please no glorification of the aforementioned. Please not as well that we are not a print magazine! We are strictly online only. Thanks for your understanding.
WHERE AND HOW TO SUBMIT TO US:
Please send an email to bloodbathhate@gmail.com with your work. Please add a short third-person author bio about you, with any socials you want us to link so that we can promote you! Works should be in either Word or Google docs; for art please send it however’s easiest for you to format.
We will format works when published for ease of reading on the site; however, we will consult all creators before making any (and only) minor edits.
Lastly: if you have any questions about the process at all, please don’t be afraid to ask! We’d love to help you out. Just shoot us an email, or a Twitter DM. We want this magazine to be accessible as possible, so if you have any difficulties, please please let us know.
As of November 16th, 2022, we WILL NOT READ YOUR WORK if it is not in a doc/doc.x/PDF form. Thank you for understanding.
About Us
Hannah Danielle is a co-editor of bloodbathhate magazine. Despite being an English major, she sucks at writing bios. Her interests include: stickers, Corin Tucker, melancholia, four-dollar words, and knife tricks.
Stella Drinkwater is a human twitter spambot, hacker, website consultant, and critic of the human condition. She is also the co-editor of bloodbathhate magazine.
Iliana Lepowska is a co-editor of bloodbathhate magazine. She writes poems as well as stories but she never has the attention span to fully finish the stories. She is currently taking a year off from school to figure out what to do with her life, and by that she just paints and plays guitar all day every day.
Hello! I'm interested in submitting-- may I ask what the process is? I looked for a link or an email or something but I couldn't find one, and I unfortunately don't use Twitter.
